this seems like a good opportunity to share with you my favorite snippet of overheard conversation ever. i was walking down Steinway Street in Astoria this past summer, a pack of teenage boys behind me, carrying on a seriously enthusiastic conversation. i had no idea what they were talking about, until i heard one of them say to the other: “The thing I liked about it was that you didn’t need to see ‘Alien’ or ‘Predator’ to understand it.”
