I think you need to spend a little less time at work and a little more time watching TV with Jessica. And then writing about it.

Thanks for that thank-you card, Ryno. I missed your goofy handwriting. Have a great vedding - and yes, let me know about any and all Philly celebrations.

"will it create a society of outcast angry loser men who can’t get women because all of the non-loser men will have snatched them up, so to speak, by the threes and fours?"

It exists: See www.almost40virgin.blogspot.com

(And no, I don't know the guy.)

By the way, I apologize for the bad Mormon joke in my novel - it was meant to show the character was ignorant; sorry if it made the book not Mormon safe. Apologies.

Steve actually reminded me of a person we knew in Tucson who had grown up in a polygamous family in SLC. We had him over for dinner, and it turned into a 3 hour grill session where we asked him all kinds of questions, and he was happy to talk about it. He was pretty messed up from his childhood. Anyway, I guess in his family some of them were leading double lives--as in, like this guy's grandfather, went to Mormon church, had temple recommends (for which he lied), was a prominent business person, and nobody knew a thing about his massive wives and children, until his funeral. But, he shouldn't 'a been Mormon and wouldn't 'a been Mormon if he hadn't been living a lie.

Polygamists are not Mormon period, not just not "recommend Mormon", so of course they wouldn't be wearing garments. What makes you think they weren't, anyway? By the way, from what I know of Utah polygamists, they are not racy in any fashion, so sounds like the show is not tremendously accurate.
